New Mag 12 rattles

I just hooked up my new MAG 12 to my sump and it "rattles". Is this normal and will it get quiet as it breaks-in?

I replaced 2 MAX 7s and the 12 is louder than the 2 MAG 7s (which suprised me).

Hi,

Thanks for your post, it is not normal for these pumps to rattle, Please check to make sure that the impeller is well seated and not off to one side, sometimes during shipping the impellers get knocked out of alignment, you may also want to double check and make sure that the impeller housing is free and clear of any debris. Last but not least double check and make sure that none of the blades on the impeller are cracked or broken. After removing the unit, taking everything apart I could find nothing wrong. I called the number indicated and the person on the phone was VERY helpful and a replacement pump is in route and the rattling one will be returned.
