New Mag. Need a Positive ID to make sure?

I got this nem 4 days ago now from a LFS that put it on order for me. I put him up on the top of the rock work on the right of my tank and he attached himself right away. Now over the last couple of days he has stayed within a few inches of the spot and shifted. So I just wanted to double check his ID and all as his tenticles are kind of throwing me as I see a bulb a little on some of them, some are straight and some are tapered a little it seems. I have heard that they could do this sometimes, but maybe stress related or who knows. I will take another picture tonight. One of my clowns took a liking to it last night. At night time his tentacles look perfectly straight like a mag should. Mag or not a mag is the question.........

He is partially bleached from shipping I know

THanks

Conrad,
It looks just like a regular GBTA to me. Mag have much more tentacles and they don't tend to "bubble" like what I'm seeing in the pics.

Thats what I was thinking... Im ready to talk to the LFS about him, thought I would throw the pictures on here to make sure.......

And (( and don't hold me to this )), I believe that Mags don't have the "lines" that you see on/in the oral disc -- can really see them in the 4th picture.

Interesting, Im going to look into that todd. Thanks for the tip. Everyones input is welcome. Appreciate it guys

So anyone else able to confirm todds mention of the stripes/stretch marks? Are there none on a real mag?

ok. Guess Im just trying to look for more details on ways I can tell it is a Ritteri/Mag so I don't end up with a wrong one again. He ordered it as a ritteri and since it was closed in the bag mostly, it certainly looked like a mag till he stretched out like this. The first picture to me looked like a nice mag

If you are getting a new Mag or any other anemone, you want it to QT at least for 10 days, because you got a nice gigantea that easy can get an infection from the new one and it would die. If you dont want the Gigantea sale to me:D

That is a very good point. Not sure if the infections can/will cross species but it can and will happen within the same species -- learned my lesson the very hard way.

Yep, BTA. H. mags do have faint striations, which is the mesentary under the the outer layer. I haven't seen pigmented white lines, as is often seen on the oral disk of BTAs.
