New magnifica nem

Mouth still fluctuates for lack of a better word, but this is how it looked at 5 pm. Not better or worse.

I've learned wih mags that they can pull through their infections very well with Cipro except when they start decomposing from inside out 1-3 days into treatment. I think yours still has a chance.
Is there a powerhead in QT?

I'd be careful mixing different antibiotics and not completing a full cycle of one after you've started treatment, that's a recipe for creating antibiotic resistance and then there's not much you can do to treat for a bacterial infection.

No, there's no powerhead on the qt, only an hob filter without any media for circulation. Do you think a PH will help?

Yes, I am aware of the dangers of mixing antibiotics. I decided to go ahead and switch after only 2 days of cipro bc it was very apparent that its condition was rapidly declining. It was a risk that I was willing to take. I was worried that the cipro had no effect and that the nem ' s infection would progress to the point of no return.

Regardless, I appreciate you bringing up the issue.

I was initially tempted to say th at there's no improvement, but th at s not necessarily true. I noticed that there was significantly less waste/brown pellet excretion from him as compared to previous days.

It is still holding its shape and has not flattened like a pancake or fully deflated. However, mouth is still loose and floppy.

Without a doubt. You can get away with a nano koralia or even a rio pump. In one of the earlier pics the nem looked covered with zoox which made me think flow was an issue. I think you will see a big improvement if you add a small pump to your tank.

powerhead was added last night.

Right now, I'm so mad, I wish I could kick myself. I did something stupid. Last night's water change was done really late. The water was cloudy, despite the salinity being correct at 1.026. But stupid me still changed it, thinking, oh, it'll be fine. It'll clear up. It did clear up, but the bottom of the tank is still "dusty" this morning. The nem is looking ****ed.

Should not have changed that water. Should have just let it sit in that original water, mixed up water that very night, and changed itl the next morning I don't know *what* I was thinking!

Pics to come :(

That sucks hope it pulls through

Thanks. Fingers crossed.

I'll keep on updating for better or for worse, since I personally hate it when the forum community doeant hear the final outcome haha.

You're doing good, just keep the tank clean and go back to Cipro. It was waaaay more gram negative coverage. Don't play with the other antibiotic anymore.

If the water is cloudy, change it.

Thanks for all the encouragement and advice, guys. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it'll make it, as it started gaping and being deflated for the rest of the day and stayed that way. Ugh.
