New Mantis Tank Layout Help

NO lights are the "stock" lights that come on most tanks. In my case it is the 18" 15 watt bulbs. I have the one that was on my 10 gallon and i added the 2 from my 55 gallon.

That will give me 45 watts. Good enough for some softies.

yeah, plus with the mantis's try to keep the light a minimum. I am thinking about using just 15-30 watts of actinic or 15w actinic and 15W 50/50 : (75/25).
Let us know how the 45 watts works for some softies, at some point I would like to do the same...

my 10 gallon N. Wenny home. he pretty much just stays in the rock on the right. hes burrowed it out to his liking. hes got 2 or 3 dorrsa and several hole just big enough for his eyes and antennae. ive since moved some of the rock to my main display, but this was the only pic i have. i just tossed the rcck in basically. i have quite a bit of rubble and shell in there for reconstruction purposes :D

thanks! you should see it now. that pic is from back in January. my mantis hid for about 4 weeks and i thought he was dead. i didnt scrape the glass for that entire time and its horrible. i thought i was going to break my glass trying to get the mag float unstuck from the coraline.

Hey H2OLUVSME

What kind of lighting do you have and how do you add your calcium???

Nice tank and i love the coraline.

Nathan

thanks for the compliment!

i have 2 13w spiral flourescents and 1 NO actinic. for a while my actinic was out and the coraline was steady growing even without the actinic.

i dont test anything but pH, sg and temp. i keep my levels straight by doing 1 gallon weekly water changes.

i dont have any filter on the tank, just 2 powerheads rock and sand.

i just noticed one of my powerstrips went out on this tank. its been running with only one spiral light, for who knows how long.

WOW!!!

I love the coraline! What kind and size PHs are you using? I have a Maxijet 900 in my 10 gallon and it is making waves. It moves some water but I have lots of LR so the flow get restricted.

Keep the pic flowin'

Nathan

my powerheads are marineland 301 and 201. i bellieve they are 170 and 95 gph repectively. i have the both aimed to the center so they beat each other up. its enough flow that i dont have any bad algaes, so im happy. ive got one dead spot behind the rock on the left that gets a little build up, but the crabs congregate there, and are easy pickens for the mantis.
