New Mantis!

Well after sadly losing my last mantis to my return pump, which was totally my fault I found another today. I believe it is also a G. chiragra same as my previous, but bright green with white and pink highlights. Pics here:

If you're referring to the purple/red ring zoos I picked them up somewhere, not sure. I had a lot of zoos at one point and I'm thinning them out. I am keeping a small frag of those to grow out though

Those may have come from me/Liz. Before I was really into the reef thing she traded some of those away to "some nerdy reef guy" :lol: and updated me a few weeks later that the rings turned red (they are a bit more muted in my tank) under metal halides - hint hint nudge nudge. This was when we were still runnin only PCs.

My new mantis is living in the same small piece of rock that the old one did. It's a piece I collected from the bahams (not legally!). Kinda cool.

You are right, I guess it was Robert Loop that we traded with. They are the same though I am sure of it... and seeing pics of yours is really tempting me to consider an upgrade on the lights...

Anyway cool mantis, you have her all set up in the newly plumbed minibow 5?

Not yet, still chillin in the 'mantis proofed' refugium. I hope to set the new tank up this coming week. I have my new pump which will provide enough flow to steal a little for the mantis tank, but now I'm considering some sort of wave maker so who knows... this one won't be able to get into the return pump though!

My lights are T5 by the way not MH.
