I have recently purchased a Maroon Clown from a FS that was in a breeder tank being picked on by other fish, he was in the corner and wasn't moving much so I decided to pick him up for a discount. I got him home and I acclimated him and when he hit the water he pretty much tried to stay at the top of it for a minute or so then slowly went to the bottom and perched on his side, I do not have a QT tank up (yet) so I have no where to keep him but the nano for the time be, but I decided having a green brittle star that I would put a container in my tank and hold it with a magnet cleaner I have until I see him improve. I tried feeding him mysis just like everything else in my tank eats and he hasn't really taken any of it. We're on day 2 with him and from day one to now he's gotten a lot more active.
Parameters
Day 1:
Alk:8.0
Temp:76
Nitrates:Around 5.0 reading a tad bit darker than the 5.0
Salinity: 1.030 (was a little
High)
Day 2
Alk:8.0
Temp:76
Nitrates:0-5.0 in the middle with the color.
Salinity: 1.026
Day 2
Did my bi-weekly 20% water change and adjusted the salinity down. He has been 2x as activate but still lays on the floor. My other clowns have nipped at him but have calmed down and let him swim with them when he is swimming.
I don't see any signs or symptoms of diseases just won't get off the bottom and stay actively afloat.
I'll upload a picture from day 1 and try and upload a video of day 2 and will keep you posted. Any advice to bring this guy up to health please share! For the sake of my clown!
