just put one in our 8 foot 240 and this thing rocks . its pushing waves the full length at 70 %. i was a bit nervous to buy it cause of some of the reviews but i am glad i did . i dont think the 2 mp 40's are going back in

Ive never see bad reviews except mine is too big for my tank 30X30 and i'm going to have to wait till the smaller one comes out.
I'm going to sell mine. $$
Ive seen a few in action and totally impressed...

I have one on my 4' 120 and have been thrilled with its performance.

I replaced two Jebao RW-15s with it and it easily out performs the two pumps.

I have it running in pulse mode at about 40% and get great movement. All of the corals seem to be happy with it.

I'm looking for more information on these. I keep hearing how great they are but that is always on a 4' tank or bigger. I have a cube tank which is only 24". Is this gonna be way to much? Should i mount it veritcatly?

low rider what are the dimensions of your tank/
I have heard mixed reviews on big tanks
My tank is 4 foot wide by 8 foot long 18inches water depth
Can you post a video
thanks

dimensions are 8 x 2 x 2 .me posting videos is not gonna happen. not that I don't wanna I just don't know how and have very little patience with these freakin computers. when I first turned the pump on it was in constant mode at 100% it was pushing water over the top of the return 4 feet away, there was some concern at first that the water was gonna splash out of the tank so I quickly shut it down. at 70 % im getting pretty good wave action to the half way point then small ripples to the end. I think if the overflow wasn't so big ,( it sticks out like 6 inches from the back ) the waves would be a little bigger all the way to the end.i can see the gyre work in my tank so at 18 inches you would have no problem. but the width I don't know about. you could place it vertically but I think that may trap crap in the middle. worse case you would need two.

i have one gen.2 and one with the ecosmart driver. 250 each. i also have one that needs a new power supply, wet side and controler work . 150.00 for that one

gen 2, 250.00 and one with the ecosmart driver,250 both are clean and ready to go .also have a gen 2 that needs a new power supply 100.00 . all work great I just replaced them with the new gyre pump. pm me with a number and I will send pics. make me a reasonable offer and ill probably take it .

I have thought about it,but for now I am enjoying the clean no pump look from the one end of the tank that faces the dinning room.i might try another one in a few months, put one on the back of the tank vertically.

makes sense. I really do like the clean look at the moment with just one. The only issue is i have the pump shooting away from the only overflow and i'm getting a bit of a film on the surface at that end.

Also, found another great thread where it sounds like they are going to introduce an upgraded controller and some apex control

Right now I'm using the Gyre in the left end of my tank (facing the overflow) and two Tunzes (one 6055 and one 6105) at the other end (at both sides of the overflow). They alternate each 6 h, controlled by the power bar of the Profilux. It is amazing, but now the Tunzes are noisier than the Gyre working at 40% (which is enough flow for my 140 gallons tank).

I'm seriously thinking about replacing the Tunzes by another Gyre set vertically besides the overflow. That way the tank would have an horizontal gyre and a vertical gyre alternating each 6 h.

Corals and fish are very happy with the gyre movement of water. Me too!. And I have reduced the number of the pumps inside the tank
