No nems in that tank, but a nem in a smaller tank plumbed to this system. Should I get rid of that other nem out of the other tank or do you think the distance makes it ok ??
They do not do well with magnifica haddon or gigantea.
Even Larger RBTA can be aggressive.
You may be ok since its not in the same tank but watch for signs of stress from either one.
The short stock tentacles is a sign that it was stressed and lacked nutrition or good lighting. Feed it ever 2 days and small things like mysis or squid.
Ugh. It's a tiny, tiny gig. About 2" that I picked up about a month or so ago. Mertens has been eating salmon and shrimp injected with selcon. Last night a snail fell on it and it ate that !! Waiting for the shell to pop out !
Which probably explains some of the really cool colors of the mertens we have seen posted for sale lately.
I would hate to be the one who spent $1K+ on a red/orange mertens only to have it be brown under normal lighting.
BTW, I have never noticed that in the 3 or 4 that I have had, but you have seen a lot more of them than I have. (and maybe my lighting is not quite right to produce the effect)
