i've purchased a river reef 94ltr, i changed out both pumps for 2 maxijet 1000ltr's. i took the lid of as i'm using 2 27w 38par spot LEDS, which i get a good shimmer effect it's 12000k bulbs & as good as my large tank which has 400w MH lighting.
i've also got a refugium on the back full of kent marine bio sediment with some cheato & a pod light above it. i also have a kent marine nautilus phos reactor on the outside of the tank. now i want to upgrade the skimmer,
i have a boyu 310 originally bought for my orca 450, now i broke the 450 so bought the river reef as a second tank.
it's filled with 2kg rubble in first 2 compartments & 8kg LR in display tank, all cured before buying.
i bought some white square frag racks & placed on the tank floor & added a new bag of live sand & topped it of with tmc 4kg larger size crushed coral plus a small amount of sand from my large tank.
so it's been a week & now the refugium & phos reactor are set up & running i want to turn my head to a good skimmer.
their are 2 skimmers that caught my eye 1 was the Hydor Slim Skim Nano 135 Internal Protein Skimmer.
the other was the Tunze Nano DOC Protein Skimmer 9002 the secong skimmer might be 2 big to get into my tank the c cup looks big, & as the 2 pumps which came with the tank are been used for my refugium & my phos reactor,
there is some flexi pipe across the top of the chambers which might catch on the tunze collection cup, both will fit the third chamber here's a pic it's easier to see than to explain the tank will be lps-sps & 2/3 fish + couple shrimp & cuc at most i want a coral tank.
anyway any thoughts on the skimmer please give me your 2 cents worth cheers jack...

I would give the Hydor a go over the tunze 9002 I have one Tunze that is. Not sure if it will fit. Aqua Medic has a little in tank skimmer also that looks promising.

thanks i was coming to the same conclusion the refugium bracket is in the middle chamber as pic above shows, so hydor all the way cheers for advice jack...

it's not as blue in reality just a **** camera their is 2 par38 LED's 27w each bulbs are 12k & i get great shimmer, better than on my large tank with a 400w MH. i want the bulb's higher up & pointing directly down & i've managed to find out that ikea do a long thin & flexi at the top you can bend it right over so bulb is horizontal instead of been at an angle they look a lot better than the light holders i curently use..
this is what they look like link below...

Thanks for the pictures and the link Love the rock scape. The Ikea lamp holder looks great not to many people here using the spotlights. Nice that would look good on my sons 33 gallon tank.
