this nem is ow brown with hints of green, nothing blue anymore

was it uneathy when i got it? was it dyed?

any ideas?

Post a current picture.
It looks bleached, not dyed, and unhealthy in that picture. Lokely it regain it's zooxanthellae and is healthier at this time.

i get it that it was a bit on the bleached side, and the 1st picture was right after coming from the shop to my tank, but i was expecting it to keep some degree of blue

anyway, here's a picture

The brown zooxanthellae coloration overpower the base blue coloration of the anemone. He is much heathier right now and he will stay like he is now.
To improve his coloration, you can provide more intense light, and decrease the disolve nutrients of the tank. If you can do this then the zooxanthellae population will decrease and the blue coloration will be more intense. This will bring the coloration of the anemone out more.

It's an LPS tank, everyone there enjoys a bit of nutrients

i have a SPS shallow tank with way more lighting and way less nutrients, not quite sure if it would be happy there as it is on this tank
