New open brain, not looking good. Why?

Yesterday i bought an open brain and placed it on the sandbed. I have 4x65 watt pc 10k in a 72 gallon bowfront. All parameters are good except nitrate spike took my nitrates to 25. My question is that yesterday it looked great and healthy and today it just doesnt look that great. The color is dulling and the tenicles arnt extending at all like before. Tank has been up for 5 months now.
Anyone have any suggestions. Im doing water changes to lower the nitrates of course. Help!!!

My guess is that it's still acclimating to its new surroundings. Sometimes this can take a few days. Some corals will expel the water in their tissues and replace it with thank water to even things out. They don't look so great when they do this though.
I like seeing pics, can you post one? That may help, others may see things that can be helpful.
BTW - what species of open brain is it?

I agree with raoul, probably just acclimating. I have had an open brain for 2 years and sometimes for a couple of days it will look horrible and barely open up with the lights, but after a while it will be as large as ever. Don't worry until you see the tissue receeding from the skelaton.

Thanks for the advice. I dont have the ability to post a pic of it and dont know which kind. Its green with puple in it.
