New Osmolater -need steup help

I am trying to set-up a new osmolator. The osmolator pumps to geo kalk reactor and then to my sump. There is a check valve between the kalk reactor and the top off container and I don't see any kalk in the top-off water so I don't believe a back siphon is an issue.

The osmolator will work pefectly for an hour or two then it will go haywire and grossly ovefill the sump and the safety float valve will have to shut off the pump. Is the optical sensor malfunctioning?

Terence,

I am not sure what could be causing this, keep in mind the sensor only detects air vs water, so any bubbles accumulating on the sensor could activate the pump. I would check for any bubbles in this chamber. It is not impossible the sensor is bad, but basically it is between those two possibilities.

No, just needs to break in. Bubbles stick to it for a few days. Give it a wipe with some vinegar. Should be fine in a day or two.

Trent,

Has it acted up again? Where is the top off hose routed to? It may also be possible it is siphoning if your water level in the container is above the end point of the hose?

The top-off dumps it the sump once it goes through the kalk reactor (the clear tube in the pic)

It could be siphoning, but dont think so because of the check value and it is
inconsistent in overfilling the sump.

I'll try cleaning the eye with vinegar and see if that helps.
Let you know in a day or two what happens.

Its definately not siphoning. I watched for air bubbles as well, nothing visible. It will turn on intermintently about every 10 to 15 seconds until it overfills and safety has to kick in.

Please send me the controller and we will replace it-

I only need the 5017 brain unit with the associated sensors, keep everything else.
