New osmolator alarms / not functioning ... Too high/low

Ive read through a number of threads and the sticky and it sounds like the two most common issues with osmolator sounding the alarm with simultaneous too high / too low lights flashing are related to being wet or magnetic fields.

The osmolator is new and the controll is in a separate dry cabinet and has not gotten wet in the 3 weeks Since i bought it new from premium aquatics, so I don't think that's the issue. As far as magnetic interference, I've isolated all the cables as much as possible. My lighting is elos e-lite, so no big ballast. I thought perhaps the power being plugged into a dc8 might be culprit, but I've run an extension cord to an outlet on another breaker, and the problem persists.

I've had it run for at most 20 hours before it defaults to the too high / too low alarms and stops working. Most of the time his happens within 5 minutes.

What else might I try? The only magnetic interference would be the magnet mount it came with.

Thanks

If the magnets don't line up or the float is in the a smaller C clip that is intended for an optic sensor, the mounting magnets could be a culprit. The float should only be installed in the one large c clip present on one magnet and the bottom of the inner and outer magnets must line up. The float switch is a magnetic switch and it has a specific shielded location when everything is properly assembled. I would check this and if that is not the issue we will swap the controller.

OK, thank you. I'll reassemble it and see if that helps. The kit came with 2 magnet mounts, I used the one that has the sensor + float on the same mount. Would trying the 2 mounts as opposed to one make a difference?

For further info, if I plug it in and the tank needs water, it does one 10 or so second fill and stops for about the same amount of time, 5 or 10 secons. Then, if more water is required, it fills again, continuously running until water reaches the level is where the optic sensor is set. The probem (simultaneous high/ low flashing & beeping) comes in after this step. Again, about 10 seconds after it reaches the set leve, it turns on one more time for a split second and the issue starts.

I'll try a re assembly this afternoon. Thanks, Roger.

The only reason to use both mounts is so the float can be elevated above the point that the alarm would go off during routine maintenance, i.e. putting hands in the tank, floating a bag, it should make no difference otherwise.

How big is the tank and is the osmolator used in a sump or in a sumpless set up?

I did do a reassembly and to no avail. Same issue persists.

The tank is 20 gal, the sump is ~10. I tried the suggestion to restrict flow as I'd seen recommended on a few other threads re: small tanks. That didn't make any difference either, whether restricted slightly or down closer to a trickle.

Still the same - runs ~10 or so seconds, a pause, runs until it reaches optical sensor, pause, runs a second or two and high/low alarm. There were a couple instances since previous post that it might go 10 or 20 minutes before the high/low happened, but not much longer than that.

Anything else I may be overlooking? Thanks for your help.

I read this controller is new, correct? Can you PM me where and when you bought it? We will get this resolved very quickly.
