Well, I just posted a thread on my new havanensis, and now I have replaced the now deceased World Famous Boris, with her new Heir to the Liar, Baraka.
I ordered her through mknwaves.com who had just got in 6 peacocks as of this past sunday. I paid $30 for her, and shipping was about $50, so I added in a piece of small Bubble Coral that was on sale for $22 as well.
The New Peacock, Baraka, is doing quite well. She has been very active and exploring her new habitat. She is coexisting nicely with the large Blue stripe clown that had lived with Boris for nearly two years. She did wake me up last night whacking one of the few illyanous reef sand burrow reef snails left in the tank. I will be placing a new order for some of them. It is wierd b/c Boris never really tried to eat any of the snails. She would grab them and toss them like a football out of her burrow if they wandered in and bothered her...
The gal is about 3.5-4" long and has very nice color. I am hoping she will find the buried PVC pipe that Boris lived in for some time until she outgrew it. Until then, Baraka, is hangin out in Boris last "burrow" in the rear of the tank. She has taken well to fresh scallops on a stick, and seemed flabergasted that I would be feeding her such an tasty easy meal her first day in the tank!! She smelled it and scoped it out and was hesitant at first to take it, then once she did, she was grabbin for the stick and immediately taking the scallops! I think she will work out well, I will be stopping by the LFS to see if they have any little live treats to reward her and see whats shes got!!
Dr Roy, I have never seen these "leopard spots" this far back on the tail, is that normal??
also noticed little inner brown dots inside the lighter normal spots on the carpace....
