New peacock not looking so well???

Well I recently got an adult peacock and he has been doing really well, but over the last 12 hours he has been acting very strange. Laying on its side, its back, and doing flips all around the tank. And he has been in a 6 gallon tank for the first 36 hours (which had my display tank water in it) so I moved him into my sump/fuge so I know he is in excellent water condtions and nothing has improved... Is he molting??? Is he dying?? He ate fine yesterday but nothing today. Is there anything I can do, it was all of a sudden :( :(

Sounds like the dreaded death curl. It happens to mantises for a variety of reasons- Osmotic shock from improper acclimation, temp shock, chemical poisoning, heavy metal poisoning, stress. The best thing you can do is turn out the lights and stay away from the tank. Maybe cover it with a towel or something....

How big is the tank you have him in, Also do you have any rocks and shells in it so he can build his borrow?

My smithii did this for the first day after I acclimated him and then the next day he wa fine. Stayed alive for 2 weeks and he was very active and smashing the hell out of things and then one morning I woke up and he was a goner. Hopefully everything goes well with yours.
