i just got a peppermint shrimp about 2 weeks ago and i thought he got eatin until i recentley found him in the live rock. im wondering if there is anything i can do that will make him come out more. i know there out at night more but he doesnt go anywhere anytime. hes with a damsel, 2 tamatos, and an algae blenny. anything helps

our peppermints almost always hide. i can see them moving here and there, but they hide most of the time. they come out during feeding too. the skunk clear is out pretty much during the whole day. maybe you could look into getting one. great personality, at least i think so.

+1 on the skunk cleaner if want it out and about, not to mention the color addition. Skunk cleaners are so out and about, they will clean anything you put in the tank including your hand

Peps hide alot,Get a skunk cleaner they are very active and it won't be long it will try to clean your hand when working in the tank.

I almost never see the three peppermints in my tank. One manged to get down into the sump, so I could peek in there and see him every now and then, but eventually I fished him out and put him back in the display. If I get out the flashlight at night I might see one for a second, but as soon as the light comes on he'll take off and hide.

We have 2 and they come out at feeding time mostly. Some days they wander around in the open, some days they hide under the rock ledges. We use a turkey baster to squirt food in their direction to encourage them to come out.

peppermint shrimp are nocturnal, they will come out at feeding time however. If you want a more visible shrimp, try a cleaner shrimp. They will eat out of your hand.

Cleaners are literally the crackheads of the fish tank world. Not only will they do tricks and mine will nearly jump out of the tank if I have food in my hand, but it will rip open my LPS's mouths/stomaches to get food I target fed them. I have to give him a big old piece of food first. :D

They are def active and cool though.

No problem with compatibility, skunk cleaners are compatible with just about everything except possibly coral banded shrimp and fish like puffers, triggers, hawkfish, etc.
