New Percula Clown on powerhead?

I just added a perc to my 55 gallon.

Hes only in there with inverts/corals and a blue damsel and a firefish.

It appears he has chosen to occupy my powerhead in between my heater/corner of tank.

Ive read online that clowns have done this in the past, will he stay here and occupy this powerhead? I guess it kinds of sucks from a "looking cool" standpoint that hes not down in the rockwork etc.

Hes eating great, swimming great, looks great.

Any thoughts?

My maroons hosted an overflow the first couple of months, they eventually realized it was safe and started exploring. Just give it time. And be on the watch for aggression from the damsel...it may see another damsel (your perc) as infringing on its territory...if that's the case one may end up dead. Good luck!

thanks, so far the blue damsel is being nice, they have all been in the same areas a few times and the damsel doesnt even seem to pay them attention.

ill have my eye on him

DO you have rock. Its best to have enough rock and in setup with caves , overhangs and cubbys. Fish like to find a safe place to call home.

Also just in case if you dont have enough water flow then oxygen levels could be low and this spot might contain more O2. Its strange for a new fish to just hang out in the open.
