that is awesome, i'd love to have a garden like that!!!!
how did you get them to grow in a "mat" on the sand like that? just put plugs side by side and let them go?

what type lighting are you using???

thanks

That is great. Thanks for sharing pics. Like others, would like to know some specifics on how long it's taken you to get to this piont.

Again, very nice. Congrats.

Thanks.

The tank will be two years old in October. 90 gallon with a 48" Current USA 2 X 150W MH and 2X 130W PC dual actinics. Bulbs are 14K Phoenix and a 12K Reeflux. Dinky sump with an undersized protein skimmer and phosban reactors with GFO and carbon.

Most were started as frags or small colonies under 2"...couple larger pieces. I have a problem with those grayish brown protopalythoas that seem to overgrow all the pretty stuff. I bomb them with Kalk paste every now and then but then seem to come back. There's also an annoying black sponge that grows among them that you can see in some of the pictures. It stings, real bad.

No secret food, chemicals, or vitamins dumped in the tank. Light, good water quality, and they just grow.

Click on the little red house thing at the top for more pics of the tank.

I do weekly 10 gallon water changes. flow is provided by two MJ1200 with Sure-flo mods and a K3 on a 2 minute wave timer, plus the return, which is probably around 500 gph. The water circulates in a circle one way, then the other. Really more of an alternating surge.

You have sps, lps, and softies/ zoas all growing together. Beaufitul!
Look at your Scoly too! I could stare at the Reverand's scoly and your scoly all day, except your zoas have taken control of me and I have to stare at them now.

Seapug,
Do your zoas ever become irritable with something and close up temporarily, or are they not to finnicky for the most part?

Wow! Nice! I've been trying to grow a zoa garden myself. Started a few months ago with frags. Some have taken off and others are painstakingly slow. I'm hoping within a year I'll have something half as good as yours. I love how some "intermingle" with others...the EE for example.
