Well I finally picked up a pair of Platinum's from Aquapros thanks Dave and last nite they started hosting one of my Hadonnis. about 2 hours ago the one Platinum kicked the other one out and wont let him/her back in to host. Now the one is by itself at the top of the tank hiding behind the SPS colony. Will he ever be let back in?

thanks

That's normal! Be concerned it lasts longer than a few weeks. Eventually the female lets the male(less dominant) in.

They can change sex too, right? I assume this is just a short term thing. Cool looking pairing though

They're sequential, so sexchange is only one way.

If the clowns are purchased tiny then it's likely that they're sexually undifferentiated yet.

In juvenile clowns, dominance is established early, as the clowns mature they all become male, then the dominant clown in the colony (i.e. a breeder tank, or a tank at the LFS that has more than 2 juveniles in it, etc.) becomes female.

This is a dominance thing. I wouldn't be worried unless it lasts longer and gets vicious.

We had a local frag meet at a local doc office (don't ask...he had a rather nice SW aquarium). The tank had 3 carpets (I THINK had.) that were all gathered on one side of the tank. Two large, mature perc's were in the tank. I was told the female took over all 3 carpets and banished the male the other end of the tank and he hasn't been allowed back over since. You could tell he definitely stuck to only that side too. He never once tried to cross to the other side. Clowns are fickle. He may be back in tomorrow or he may be banished for life. Time will tell :)
