new problem with brain

hey folks, a few weeks back it turns out my brain had a good old aiptasia growing on the back, after minor surgery ( an injection, a scalpel and some coral gel) there are no more signs of any aiptasia in the tank. however over the past week/week and a half I now have some necrosis. due to a issue with a family member in the hospital, I missed my every two week water change. however the parametes still stayed in check. I am due for a water change tomorrow, although the parameters are still good. at this point with the necrosis I am not 100% sure of my next course of action. I want to do an iodine dip with the water change tomorrow. other than that I can only think the frag off the death. if so( sorry never fragged a brain b4) how do I do so? scalpel off the dead areas? or totally remove the right half of the brain? I would also like to add that the brain has no problem with feedings. I kill the flow and place some pe Mysis or some hykari pellets and it immediately swells up to eat.
pleas give me any pointers I kinda have taken a strong liking to bobby the brain

I am no brain coral expert, and your best course of action is to read the "rescue coral" thread. It will give you an idea on what to do next.
