New RBTA... not sticky

This guy does not grab his food. It's only been a couple days, but I'm a little concerned about it.

The nem also has not moved from where I placed it. I know sometimes they don't, but combined with not eating I'm just wondering if that is a sign of severe stress.

Experienced reefers, thoughts?

Is its month closed tightly? I wouldn't worry about it not being sticky, nor about it grabbing its food just yet.

I am assuming this is the one that you got from LA? ( diver's den section ) It is a bit of a trip from Wisconsin to NY, so I wouldn't be too concerned yet. Would think that by Monday it should be perking up.

Also, anytime I have gotten a new anemone, I tried not to find it for the first week, just to give it time to settle in.

Hi Todd,

I'll just leave it be. Water is looking good and the other animals are healthy so hopefully he'll "perk up" a bit. It is not gaping or deflated... but it isn't fully inflated either. Probably about 60% I estimate.

I'll update soon. You're right, it was a rough trip for it! :)

thx for the reassurance...

hey Angela.

If everything else is normal, I wouldn't be too concerned. And since its mouth isn't gaping, I don't think you have to be worried at all.

Heck, when I moved one of my Haddonis from one tank to another ( an easier trip then your BTA went through ) it wasn't sticky for a couple of days, and they are normally like velcro when it comes to holding onto things.

Glad that I could offer some reassurance.

And.... PICS. ;)
