new RBTA question

My RBTA has moved and now it seems to settled behind the same rock on the sand on this picture.

My question is it has been two days now and he looks the same. What I mean is he has not fully extended his tentacles.

Is this normal? Can I try to feed him now?

I wouldn't feed him yet, give him some settling time. If he is not fully inflated then he is still adjusting or something is bothering him.

How did you acclimate him, even tho they are pretty hardy they are still very sensitive to sudden changes.

I float the bag and add a bit of water every 5 minutes method.

So tonight I am not running any moonlight and the light isturne off. The only light is from the living room

He is fully open now and move around actively. It is strange that he did do this when it was bright. Is this normal?

He could be still acclimating to you lights, also if he is moving around he has not yet found a spot that is suitable. Maybe where he was situated the light was too intense/ flow was not right etc. They generally like to plant there foot in a small hole to protect their foot, on your pic it looks exposed. Also they generally move around until they find a spot that accommodates to all their needs i.e. lighting, flow etc. Please ensure your powerhead is nem proof, it is moving around he could get caught in the current from you powerhead and sucked in and shredded.

This morning I discovered that he has moved under the breeding box (overhanging) that I use to hide my LPS.

I don't want him to stay there as the reason I hide my LPS is so that he can find his spot and stay.

Can I remove him and put him back on rocks?

I put sleeve on my MP10.

So....it has been 1 week now, and my RBTA seems to really perk up when the light is OFF and move around. When the light is ON, he goes to hide really deep.

Any idea why? I am using LED Nanobox Duo Plus M.

My nem never really move around a lot. If you nem it still moving he hasn't found a spot its comfortable with. I placed my nem high and it when straight to the bottom and hid under a rock. Then it gradually stretched from under the rock to catch the rays. If it goes under rock and hide don't worry it will be fine, just leave it to do its own thing.

Trust me these things can give you a headache, one minute it will be happy and this will go on for a while then all of a sudden it will start doing things that make you question its wellbeing.

You could always shade it and gradually introduce back into the light.

Your tank does not look ready for a bta, is it even cycled?

Bta require established tanks with stable parameters. Your tank is set up less than 3 months?

Doesn't look cycled to me, your tank looks very sterile.

Obviously something is wrong since your bta is not happy, bta is very easy to keep.
