New RBTA

It's on the move today... Moving up to find some light.

And looking much better. I'm gonna turn the MJ1200 off tonight just incase ;)

Close, Moving up to photosynthesyze.

half of it had light before but it seems much healthier in the last few days.

Looks like I'm back to square one having it wander around to try and find a spot.

Right now it's in the middle of the tank and I hope it stays there because there is more than enough direct flow. My Vortech is making it wave back and forth.

But as I've learned... They aren't the smartest of creatures!

Beautiful nem! Hopefully it will finally make up its mind(if it has one?) and stay put! Best of luck to you!

Almost 2 months later my RBTA is finally not hanging upside down...

But he's been behind a rock the entire time so I can barely see it... it seems like that's his new favourite place.

Two New Updated Pics!

It's looking much better now and it gets fully extended when the lights are on.

I had to move my tunze pump to the other side because it was getting close again!

I am keeping two RBTAs. My first one is in the same place from I got it 7 months ago. I have another one that I bought 6 months ago and almost every single day since the first day is moving to a different part of my tank. I think that it knows all the spots in the tank. It look very healthy, I think this anemone is going to be moving forever. I think there are two different class of RBTA, the lazy ones and the runners one.

You should consider making an anemone island in your tank if your tank size and aquascaping allow for it. I made a freestanding pillar of two rocks. They are positioned away from all of the other rockwork, so that an anemone would have to climb down the whole pillar and across the barebottom to get to the rest of the reef.

The top rock creates a gap between it and the bottom rock where the anemones wedge into. I've also angled the powerheads and lighting so that the anemones seem pretty happy and seldom move from the island. (They've done it once or twice, but only because I shifted things around.)

Here's mine:

(In this first shot, the naughty lemondrop had settled into a spot I wasn't happy with, so I moved him back on top of the island.)
