New red tipped anemone (2) new clown fish (1) one existing clown (1) fairly newcarpet

So I'm coming up on a year of running my cadlights tank. I have one clownfish, I have an anemone that ended up passing away recently after a losing battle of keeping it alive. It wasn't in good health when i got it. My clown did host it ( or vice versa) for a long time, and never left it alone even while it withered away.

I got a carpet anemone a few days ago, read more up on it and its scary. I got a red tipped bubble anemone.

I'm trying to get the new clown I got today, to host with the new red tip, they are both in a small breeder box. EZ to do since i put them in immediately after acclimation.

I'm having trouble catching my original clown who is larger but skittish.

The carpet anemone used to be on a small rock but during the last two nights had steadily gone upward to the highest peak, I guess it wanted more light. I originally was doing an acclimation period with my xr30w pro but i'm assuming it wasnt necessary. the carpet anemone is eating great the two times I've fed it.

Can anyone give me some tips on what the process should be with my new livestock? Leave in the breeder box indefinately? Push the fish into the anemone with a net? Or pick up anemone and touch it to clown? Put my old clown with the new one? Put them both in the tank and hope for the best?

Also whats the feeding schedule recommended for a 4 inch by 5 inch anemone carpet. The red tipped bubble is very small maybe 2 inches by 2.

Thanks for the help.

I plan to test my water tomorrow. I'm scheduled to do a 5 gallon water change during day, so I'll probably test tomorrow night. Last few readings have been very consistent.

Also plan to take some pictures. Other than my anemone which withered and died, all of my coral is great, not that I have much. Sand is a little dirty...do have a little bit of bubble algae I've been dealing with, and have a little bit of bubbles attached to sand...

what type of carpet? a Haddoni carpet requires sand. At least 2-3 inches. more is better. They attach to the rock/glass and bury itself in the sand. Low flow, high lights. Haddoni require sand to cover its column or it may keep moving.

gig carpet requires high flow, high lights. They tend to be at the very top of the rockscape. no sand needed. Mine sits right in front of a MP40 at random mode

3 clowns may or may not work. Most won't in a small tank.

Don't force the clowns into anemone. different anemones host different clowns, if you put the wrong one in the carpet, it might eat the clownfish. If you got the right anemone and the right clownfish, they will host. If you didn't, then pray they host because you will never know. Clowns are weird, they may just get hosted by your powerhead or corals.

you don't need to feed anemone. They get food through lights. Feeding will make it grow though. I wouldn't recommend feeding the carpet so early. Let it settle down and monitor. Feed after a few weeks

The clown and the red tip are still in the box. They are not mated. How long should i leave them? I could not catch the bigger clown to put in box. I need to move the carpet one to even take a picture now. The red tipped is off his tiny rock and on the net of the breeder box.

Carpet. Is this gig?

I put the red tip in tank. My big clown took to it immediately. You must be right. The new clown doesnt know where to go and is shy. Big clown swam with it for a while seemed happy to see him. I spent forever tryingbto get clowns together in breedrr box. I gave up. Will take more pics tomorrow.

Pics at night. My leather next to it looks terrible. It has dropped 2 limbs small branches recently but the current section on left side, a large part seems like it will fall off soon. Not sure if its in too much flow ....do these new pics confirm the type of carpet mentioned above ?
