Hi all! I'm very new here! I've had reef and FO tanks in the past and am interested in starting up this hobby again. I'm sure I'll have many questions along the way but let's start with the VERY basics. I looked through to see if I could find this elsewhere but bear with me if it has been asked before :spin2:
I have stored away an Oceanic 29gal BioCube HQI (yeah it's old, never been used). I'm looking to start verrrrrrry slow and add the bells and whistles as I go (I'm thinking ATO fingers crossed)
First comes first, where do I put this?!
I have a toddler who is in to everything so the main living room may not be the safest option so I'm thinking of putting it in our office. I'm assuming I will not be able to keep the glass top on the tank due to heat with the MHs and I'm concerned about humidity damaging the computer and electronics in the room. It is a relatively small room but for the most part the door can be kept open and the ceiling fan can be left on. With a relatively smaller tank, would it be a problem having the tank on the opposite side of the room from a couple of computers?
On the subject of where, there's a question of the tank stand. I really dislike the look of traditional tank stands but I realize I need something strong enough to hold the weight. Does anyone have any non-aquarium furniture pieces that they use? Or point me in the right direction of some better looking aquarium stands?
