Just bought a Bulk Reef Supply 150 gal per day RODI filter. It's works with 2 membranes and cuts down the waste water produced by 50% by making the tank water much faster. I do run the waste line to the pool so I've been using the waste water, but it will definately cut down use over the long term.

Love that system. I have it and love it.

Yah it's great to use the waste water for the pool, but in the winter without the rain and evaporation for the heat I don't need to put water in the pool so it really does get wasted.

Another use for "waste" water is a vegetable garden. I run the wastewater out to a water collection barrel, and use that to water my vegetable garden.

I have collected my ro/di waste in a 32g Brute and then pumped it to the veggies in back with a hose through the livingroom. Not being married I can get away with stuff like that. :)

I have the same RODI unit and love it as well. I store my 'waste' water in an old sump and fuge, and a blue 50 gallon barrel, and I use it for the laundry. A FULL load of laundry uses almost 30 gallons of water, about 15 for wash cycle and another 15 for rinse. I set my alarm to let me know before the rinse cycle starts so I beat the autofill from the house plumbing.

i have just discovered a second and third leaking part on the new RO unit from BRS. I'm sure they will send replacement parts, but 3 different failed new parts. Suprising
