I just got a new Rose Bubble Anemone and he chose to attach himself on the underside of a rock, I tried to move him but hes really attached and I really dont want to hurt him, ive left him there for about a week since I wanted the initial tank move shock to settle a bit, he looks great but I dont want him there! I guess my question is two part,

:fun2: is there an easy way to get them to move them off of that spot (i have tried pointing the powerhead right at them my tank is a 29g so this disrupts so much other life) Id prefer not to do that.

:fish1:The second par tof my question how do I encourage my black ocellaris clowns to host in it?

Thanks for the help guys.

Curtis I will take your advice under consideration. However I think he would be happier adjusting in a different spot.

I had my anemone and clown for more than 2 month till he decided to host it. My nem is also under the rock but you should leave them alone. There is not much u can do to encourage clown to host of they don't want to they won't. Forcing them is not a good idea. Mine hosted the nem for few days then he stopped.

He will move to exactly where he is happiest. I had one of my BTAs move under a rock and 2 weeks later it decided to move itself to a front and center position. Leave it alone.

That's what I've found too. I've tried to move my carpet nem to where I want him, but he keeps moving back to wherever he wants to

the powerhead should work i used a tunze 6045 abou 2' away from it. it started to move away within minutes. this was to coax my bubbletip to move back to its spot after moving away to split.. i also used it to coax it a bit further down to where my occ clown slept.. after it moved there i put the powerhead back to its normal flow and within 2 days my clown was sleeping in the aneomone and now she wont leave it. the anemone has since moved up back to where it started before splitting also. so i think they are going to go wherever the want to go.. but you def can direct one to move where you want with a powerhead.. but in the end.. if it doesnt like that spot its going to move on you anyways.. but its worth a try to get your clown in it.

My clowns try to host everything but the anemone. Welso Brain, Rock, Zoa's...Fungia plate...but that nice BTA never...I have tried everything to put my anemone where I thought it would be best for it, it has other idea's, bottom line it is going to park where it wants to be. I have heard of people making a nicer spot for it and getting them to move. They took rubble rock and built a hole for the foot and planted it there, then fed it some nice chunks of food, it then thought that was the best spot. I have not tried it though. Figured it was safer just to leave it be.

If you get it to attach to a moveable rock, you can move the rock. But that won't guarantee he won't move again to his personal happy spot.

idk yesterday I came home from work and he seemed like he was injured and had moved to the very top of the tank... not sure why he became unhappy where he had moved was right next to some mushrooms.. maybe they stung him? he has since moved to the bottom of the overflow box and is starting to look a little better, but i cant imagine what could have injured him?
