I received my horizontal tripod arm this past friday. Its not as solid fully extended as i would like, but ill work out its limitations.

Here are a few pics with the new setup. I also cut down and modified my top down box. It now mounts to the tripod as well.

The two make a great combo.

Is that the Bogen Pro or something like that? I have one the Bogen in my closet and it was great for taking Northern Light images. Easpecially when they were directly overhead. Since I got my Gitzo I sort of fogot about it but maybe I need to dig that bad boy out!

Beautiful images BTW.

Here is a link to it. Its by Brogen for manfrotto i believe?

Very Cool. Did you have to get a special mounting plate with a longer screw to go through the acrylic box, or did you just find a bolt the right length and modified the plate?

I used a nylon screw i had left over from a reactor. I had to cut it down a little bit, but that was it.

works perfect.

mine does that too, but the overall height that you loose without the vertical mast, wasnt high enough to get over my tank.

I kept the original one vertical, and added the extra horizontal.
