... I was considering a large turbo snail might be able to hold it's own in her tank. What do you guys think? My lfs has some turbos that are nearly 2" across.

For what it's worth, I was able to keep a very large (2.5-3in) turbo in Tim's tank... for about 2 weeks after he finished his last molt. He never did get the shell entirely opened up for feasting, but did manage to kill it by smashing several holes in the side of the shell. I removed the ihorrible-smelling beast before it could foul the tank, but I wouldn't recommend the turbos (personally). Too high a risk of not noticing the snail was dead and wreaking havoc with the water chemistry.

I put the turbo in the tank right at the start of Tim's last molt, so the snail did have enough time to complete Operation: Scour the Walls, but it still seems like a bit of a waste since there was no way for Tim to consume the whole snail without completely fouling the water first... /shrug

Tim may be a bit bigger (and aggressive) than the average N. wennere though, so it may work out for longer.

i change about 20% of the water at least once (and sometimes twice) a week. NO2 is always 0ppm, NO3 below 20ppm, and NH4/3 nonexistent. i dose with kent's nano parts A & B daily (12 drops each). so far everything is going well.
matilda still ignores the margarita and Pippin (the damsel).
i've been feeding her once a day (i know probably too much) a live feeder shrimp or a piece of krill. i'm getting a bunch of cheap hermits tomorrow (50 cents each). i keep the feeders and hermits in a separate 18-gallon tub with LR and macro.
I also added a handful of macro to matilda's tank. she enjoys staying incognito under the macro, oh so camouflaged...bright red hiding in bright green....

last night an interesting thing happened...
at about 4 in the morning i heard a "crack!".."POP!"..."click!" comng from her tank. i thought surely it couldn't be matilda, up at this hour....
then "swick"..."click".."pop" "pop" "crack!"
I thought for sure the snail or damsel had had it.
but nope, all is peaceful (for the moment) and everyone accounted for when the lights went on.
i supposed she was just redecorating again...or perhaps dreaming of battling a large juicy shrimp...

i'm beginning to feel obsessed. when i told my brother that he had to come over and see my stomotapod, he gave me a funny look and questioned my mental state.
honestly! matilda is so cool! i tell him. nope, he says, maybe later.
and one of my friends said she looked like a cockroach. the nerve!
