Been a long time, tank has been going very well for several years. Had an ASM G2, then few years back got a used similar size Euroreef.
Anyways, the Sedra 3500 finally gave out, so time for a new pump. But was think about maybe trying a newer style, specifically affordable such as the $135 Reef Octopus.. The ASM/Euro has went strong and produced good skim mate for around 7 years, so not turning my back on something proven for my system.
I would take a shot, but my dilemma is: due to my large sump installed before the tank went on, I can BARELY fit the G2 body into the cabinet, it is tight getting it in. Once in the sump all is well, but the frame of the stand and size of the sump make it a little too tight for comfort. I assume the footprint would work, but there is a .25" larger difference going to the Reef Octopus.
Whatta ya think?
