New skimmer

I had a Sea clone never could get it to work correctly on a 25 gal reef tank was rated up to a 100 gal tank. I finally got sick of it kept the power head and threw rest away.I have been with out skimmer for about a year. battling cyno or diatoms . No one is ever sure of one or other if you like me surf the threads and pics of the problem. I've decided to start skimming again purchase a Reef Octopus BH 100 . Hope this was a good decision and a decent skimmer . What are your thoughts?

Should work, i hear those are nice skimmers. I have been skimmerless for about 2 years, but i think i just got lucky in that i dont have nuisance algae problems. I get cyano if i dont keep up on my top off waters parameters (I.E i let the membrane get to old).
