New Skimmer

I know this is a common topic, and could be a good idea to search for the info, but the link does not work, so here is the question.

I want a new skimmer for my 75 Gal tank (110G total). Its almost just LPS tank with 2 tangs, 5 chromis, 2 Ocellaris and one bleny. Any ideas of what skimmer may work, without spendign a lot o money? (it can be a hang on or in sump skimmer)

Thanks

I would not go cheap on the skimmer. Its one of the most important parts of the reef. You might want to look at a used Euro reef. The bigger the better.

The best luck I ever had with LPS was during a move when they spent 6 months without a skimmer. But that wasn't your question.

I'm a fan of the ASM G3 or G4. Get one rated for more than your tank volume. They tend to be over rated. All skimmers, not picking on ASM.

ASM G2 would work for a 75 gallon. They are just a cheaper version of a euro-reef and work great.

Look at different TYPES of skimmers too. Needle wheel, beckett, insump, external, downdraft, counter current, spray injector, etc. Take into account space contraints, noise, power consumption. Once you narrow these choices down, it's easier to decide.
