NEW Snail Group buy!

Unfortunately BART would take just as long as driving for me here in the peninsula to Walnut Creek.
There's no good fast way by BART for me. :(

hey if anymore leftover,

i would like

10 extra ceriths
2 emerald crabs
2 conch.

any other leftovers besides anenome and scallops?

I'll give you a call tomorrow afternoon to confirm pick up and location.. thanks

actually bart is a bargain from the peninsula, its only like 2.00 round trip, and you can rest all the way, and its a lot faster than rush hour traffic into the city and on the bridge.

Ay Yo Ill add what I can to you order, ill let you know tomarrow.

As for bart, I am 4-5 blocks away, your getting old Tom... walking with a cane are we? it takes me about 10 min to walk, it only takes tom 1 hr

D0h !!! I was thinking of the Pleasant Hill Bart station there off of Treat. Didn't know there was one closer to you (I don't know that area that well). Sorry for giving out inaccurate information :(

crazyreefer,
Just to save you a trip, I can also arrive at walnut creek station at around 5:30 from Union City. I don't have a cell phone, but will give you a call before hopping on the train.
See you and thank you very much.
Spencer

Crazyreefer,

Depending on when the shipment comes in, I'd like to swing by a little after noon...maybe 1pm if thats good ?
LMK.

I'll paypal the money shortly. :)

Cooler would be better. Just an FYI that Nicholas is a hobbyist like us and doesn't stock LFS supplies like bags or boxes :)

I figured that, I'm just trying to get a handle on how much stuff I'll be carrying. If I was putting it in my car, nothing is a problem, but it gets complicated lugging stuff on BART, so I want to make it easy for myself. I'll go pick up some shopping bags or something at lunch, too late for a cooler since I'm at a work already.

I usally dry pack most of the items, except fish, and even the largest order dosnt take but a couple of small bags.

Nicholas

The last group buy we participated in from Nicholas all of the snails were packed into ziplocs with wet paper towels. Everything made it home safe and sound :)

Great, sounds good. I don't know if this is the thread for this, but any acclimation techniques for dry packed snails? I know some use the let them stick to the glass and move into the water on their own technique. But with like 80 snails going into my tank and my wife's tank combined, I could be sticking snails to the glass for the next two weeks. I've only purchases snails locally in the past, so I've never gotten dry packed snails. Reeftopia has a nice acclimation guide on their site, does that apply to dry packed stuff?

with dry pack all you do is a dip in NSW, to remove any fouling and then in they go to the tank.

NOTE THEY ARE HERE!

Crazyreefer..Sparkss - great to meet you guys this afternoon ! :)

Everything has been in the tank a few hours now, and all doing good....except the cerith. :( Astrea took about two hours to start moving, but the cerith snails have yet to budge.
Anyone else have similar issues with theirs ?

Thanks again, Nicholas, for a great buy. After we drove off, Brian said I should have gotten one of those sponges ! lol Oh well...a little late now.

Hey Nicholas,

After lights came on this morning, only about 7 of the Cerith are still in the same spots - the rest seem to have made their way around the tank. No worries, they will make homes for hermits later on down the road. ;)

Have a good weekend. :)

I have had some snails take up to a full day (or more) to start moving, so don't count them out yet :).

The only ones that gave me any worry this time round were the conchs. They didn't move until early this morning, and then not that much, but they are alive and starting to "explore" (albeit at a snails pace... pun intended :)), so we worried for naught :).

Yay, all cerith snails are on the move. (These guys must just be real slow ! lol) I've never had them take that long to get up and go before. lol
