New Snowflake Clowns

So I just added 2 new clownfish to my tank and it seems the bigger one of the two is being the submissive one. After about 10 minutes of adding them to the tank they started going at it . Locking lips, grabbing each other's tail/ pectoral fins, the whole nine yards. I watched these two for 30 min at the LFS and they never once fought. The bigger one now is doing like a violent shake when the other one comes near. Does this mean that I might have a mated pair in the making, or should I be worried? They were in a tank with like 12 other clownfish.

It could be that because they are in a new environment and separated from their previous tank mates that they are trying to reestablish the hierarchy. Do you know how old they are? From the pic they look a little big to be sexually immature juveniles, but if they are both males or both immature, it could definitely be a dominance thing. I wouldn't worry too much if they aren't injuring each other. Just watch them closely over the next few days. Obviously you will want to intervene if you see signs of nipped fins or injuries. Until then I would just let them work things out. You very well could have a mating pair in the future. Its a little early to tell.

Normal behavior , trying to establish dominance on will grow bigger and become the female and the male will be smaller , they will be a bonded pair when they begin to sleep together , a mated pair when they lay eggs .
