new sps updates?

I have been away from this hobby and the sps for over a year now just fish and live rock since my last bought with aefw ..Now looking to crawl back in slowly ..Have there been any new sps or hardware I should know about? Leds still being upgraded every 6 months? Are they still the rave or have metal halides and T5's come back into play? Any new sps ? Any intel is appreciated..
Would love to hear about the cure all for aefw ? Or am I still dreaming..?

Hey Roger! Hope all is well.

Awesome you are getting back into it. I would say just my opinion on LEDs the best are the Ecotech Radion's. There is a store in Lansing (I'm sure you know which I'm talking about) that has been using them on their SPS tank for quite a while now and has given them good results. They had been running T5. When I saw the tank I though man that looks good, is that T5 with Halide? Now ATI has a LED powermodule which is pure sexiness!

For me I prefer T5 as it has given me best results so far. If I could I would go back to halide but the heat they put off is just too much for my apartment.

Do you remember where or how you got the AEFW? Can you link it back to a specific frag? LOL yea no cure yet although there have been some studies. Mr Saltwater tank talked to a scientist about it. Can't remember what came about besides Yep they suck.

Do you plan on using Live Rock or Dead or a mixture?

I have a lot of live rock enough to fill a 300 gallon tank half in brutes and the rest in the 120 and 75 gallon tanks i have up I was thinking of using the brute rocks and seed them and clean the older rocks and keep them stored in the brutes for another year until i can get my 300 gallon tank up and filled even if its with just the live rock and some fish to get back to basics before jumping back in the sps game and build it the right way very slowly. thanks for the intel the shop you speak of is in lansing correct? I forget the name as well but the frag shows are close by that shop if memory serves me right.
