New Store Coming soon!!!!!

Funman -

I think that a 30 gallon tank form Glasscages might be ok. There have been some complaints of sloppy silicone work. Don't even question the owner about his quality of work because I heard he don't take cricitism to well. I would avoid them at all cost on larger tanks. They have been known to crack - and the owner won't stand behind his product. Some have been known to arrived scratched, and the owner will blame it on the users.
Consider how much are you going to pay for shipping a 30G tank? Are you looking for a reef ready(RR) tank? If not - check out the Oceanic 30G cube. It's a sweet looking tank. Only disadvantage is that it's not RR.

Bruce (CaptiveReefSystems) sells Oceanic and AGA tank at a very reasonable price. I bought my tank from him.

I'm looking for Reef Ready, 30G I was going to have GC Modify the standard 30g tank for it..
Is there a 30 or so G Local that's reef ready?

i inquired about a small 20x20x12 prop tank, and after shipping drilled and reef ready with internal overflow box, came out to be about $155. Not too bad? as long as it doesn't leak, for a prop tank what do you guys think?

sparkss might be able to make me one as well ;) i'm so busy, wish I had time to make my own.

Hey Funman - so that we aren't accused of hijacking this thread - why don't you post a new thread. :D I have some more comments about GC - but I will put it in your new thread.

Update-

Helped John unload most of the tanks for his store today. Over 70 of them!!!! Has has 3 180's for displays of fish and coral, a bunch of 20's for fish (fresh and salt), some really cool tanks that are narrow and shallow for inverts and, best of all, shallow tanks for coral. They are simular to the ones he uses in his garage except they are glass, they work great for viewing coral. He was talking about possibly having some kind of customer activated timer that will lower the flow for a set amount of time so you could easly view the coral from the top down. Very cool!

John is opeing his store in the next couple of weeks right?
Anyone know if he will have refractometers? I was about to start looking for one, but then thought about his new store, and thought it would give me a reason to see the new place.

There were fliers at the last meeting that I think said so, but I forgot to take one with me. Also, anyone know what he is calling the store? Is it still going to be "Your Reef"

Unfortunatly the grand opening may not be unil the weekend of the 1st. I will be sending out an e-mail notice soon to let every one know for sure.
Thanks again!!!

The grand opening is up in the air right now. He told me yesterday that it may be the 31st after all. It all depends on how long things take to cycle.

Is all of his equipment and tanks up and running? And will he be using some, all or no existing equipment?Thatd speed up the cycle if he was Id think.

I helped him get the Salt water fish system complete today and most of the salt water coral system. The entire store is brand new equipment with the exception of the tank he's putting live rock in.

He is planning on using sand and rock along with as much water from his old system as he can but he is very adamant that he wants everything to be as healthy as possible before he brings in all the new livestock. So he'll let things cycle for as long as possible, Thats why he's pushing back the opening. It's, great actually, to see a LFS owner care this much about the quality of the store and the products he will carry.

I'm very excited to have a store of this quality in the area, I hope everyone else will be too!
