Ditto. I was wondering but was afraid to ask  I'm glad you did.

What is a silkie chicken??

The Silkie is a variety of chicken believed to have originated in eastern Asia. Silkies generally have a fluffy appearance due to their feathers lacking functioning barbicels; essentially, all their feathers are very much like down. Their unique appearance and their quiet temperament mean they are often kept as pets. The hens easily become broody, laying only a dozen or so eggs before attempting to hatch out their clutch. They are considered excellent mothers. Their broodiness makes them a poor breed for egg production, and their dark skin makes them difficult to market as meat birds in Europe and America.

Actually Jon...it HAS been updated. It still has the old date but Planet Reef is now listed.

Wonder how those RC monkey guys do that............

Now...as far as Wikipedia is concerned ... don't know if I believe it after seeing something about it on TV.

I NEED PICS!

I was @ Planet Reef also today very nice set up still getting stuff set but nice selection of fish. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is fully set up after talking with Marty about his plans for the tanks that are still cycling.

So this Chicken thing is basically just another pet like keeping a rabbit or ferret? If so I guess just in a wire cage?

You city boys... ;)

I have had silkies before, they're adorable. They're especially cute when they're babies. Chicky, am I correct when saying that most are polydactyl?

Went to a state fair years ago and there were alot of Show chickens there.

How do they fair in the tallent portion of the contest...j/k

I kind of like going to them because no matter how I look I am for the most part the best looking one because I have all my teeth (HA HA)
