New store in the Birmingham Area...

just wonna say that the new store is great!!

as a somewhat poor college kid these ppl have excellent prices and i love going in there to shop.

keep it up guys1

I have to say was really impressed with skilos1's new store Sarris Underwater Creations.

Everything was great in there they had a little bit of everything on the fish selection and I have to say alot of their prices were very comparable to online prices if not better.

I did not really look at thier corals considering I was really only in there to get some fish and invertebrates that might help me combat a algae problem. However, the whole middle of the store is setup so they can start selling lots of different corals and clams when the time comes.

I just have to say they will be the first store I go to if I want to add something to my aquarium. They were very friendly and also seem very knowledgeable about the species they carry.

Anyone been here recently? I thought a new store opened up but didn't know anything specific about it.

How is their selection on softie corals ?

I checked out the website but it looked like it wasn't updated just yet.

They are starting to keep more and more stock. Last time I was in, its picking up a bit. Slowly but surely.

store hours are Tues - Thurs 11-6, Fri - Sat 11-7 and Sun 1-5. We can always stay later by appointment.
Thanks,
Chris

Went to visit today, good selection of fish and some corals and inverts I hadn't seen in other places. Chris was very helpful and I plan on a reutn trip when I get my new tank set up

you know what we need? a new store in alabaster. No wait i can't afford that. Will def have to check out the store next time i head that way.

WOW I'm excited to see this!! I did not know this even existed. Are there other store is BHM besides Aquarium Imports and Aquarium Designs and this relatively new one?
There might be others that I am unaware of!!

nope this is pretty much it that I know of also. AD has a small store over on 280 incase you didnt know of that one.

Well Ed's Pet World in homewood has some saltwater fish like Chromis and damsels. They did not have a very nice or clean looking setup last time I was there ( over 1 years ago) so not sure on the quality of livestock. But for a good note I bought 3 fish from them back when I was there to start my tank and 2 of the fish lived the whole time I had a tank and I THINK the damsel Marybebo has now.

I went to Sarris's tonight. It was beautiful. The employees were attentitive. Very different than I am used to.
They were knowledgable, answered all 80 of my questions, and had a huge variety of corals. They tested my water with a smile and gave me advice on removing my pesky crab.
This was my first trip, and I will definately return!
