new sump but issues with coral

Originally, I had a sump made for me using 20 long aquarium for 90 gallon tank (larger than original sump). Before the change over, I had no issues with fish or coral. When I set up the sump, after waiting approx 1 weeks before using it to allow time for cure, I added the salt water (probably 15 gallons) slowly and made sure everything held. Looking at the DT, everything looked white. I thought this was from micro bubbles and the settling of the new to old water. The salinity was (and is) 1.024. Things started to settle down and thats when I noticed my coral folding in. My kenya trees are scrunched up as well. Fish are good. I contacted the guy who did the tank and was told it might be ammonia spike. Well, my sump wasn't the correct height for my liking so I have rebuilt it to hold the appropriate amount of water. Used GE 1 silicone. (He said he used 100 % silicone but unsure brand. I will let it set for awhile before setting it up. Any ideas why my coral might be angry? Only change was the sump and new water. I am thinking not enough good bacteria? But that is odd when mixing just 15 gallons to sump compared to 90 gallons in DT. Should I do another water change? Or let well enough be. Maybe they are just po'd?
