New Sump Operation Help

Bought a new 120G tank with a 50 gallon DIY sump underneath the tank. It has a 2" drain line and a 3/4" return line. There is a center overflow in the tank and the 2" overflow has a turn down in the overflow with an airbreak cap on the top of the line, this runs down to the sump discharge. My discharge is currently about 1/4-1/2" submerged, is this correct or should there be an airbreak when discharging into the sump? I have a Ehiem 1260 return pump that returns through the overflow and "T's" at the top to dual spray bars on either side of the overflow. Everything seems to be flowing, there isn't really all that strong of a current coming out of the spray heads, not sure if there should be or not.

Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything and to get any feedback, things to watch for, etc.

Thx!

Let the system run and then shut off the return pump. Water will siphon back into the sump - ensure that the siphon breaks before the sump overflows.

Yep good tip, did that a little while ago looks like everything seems to be ok. Lots of bubbling and micro bubbles in the drain section of the sump, but I would suspect this is normal.
