new sump

I think I've asked this before but how long can I run my 180 without a sump during the switch over? I currently have a seio 2600 moving water inside. I just have a feeling that this won't go smoothly.

Dennis if you keep the bio-load low you can run it a very long time. Oxygenation and gas exchange would be my main concern, keep that 2600 pointed to the surface. :-)

doin same thing right now dennis, i put all the other corals and clams in my 75 while the live rock and 5 fish are in the 125, my sump baffles need one more day to cure. I'm taking this time waiting to adding marine SAT to my tank since skimmer isn't running so i can finish off hair algae problem. i kept my soft corals in tank since they can live through almost anything.
Hey dennis were are the pics.

here is a pic of mine with new octopus extreme 150, had to tear down tank buy a new stand make a new sump 30 gallon long, and hurry up and install my new bamboo floors in my living room and put it all back together.

I'm moving my sump to the basement,if I did it all again I would use a rubber liner in the bottom of my stand as my hardwood floor is alittle warped from my first skimmer over flow. The sump has been running for several months now, just alittle chicken to switch over as I know something will go wrong and crash everything.

the only real filtration is from the skimmer and cheato and I know Lots of people that run skimmerless and with little nutrient export and large bio loads... They just have to do more water changes.

When my sumped leaked I went weeks without it before it was repaired.

Did you see the news tonight about the hospitals being packed with folks who have the flu last night?

You're not the only one !

Nook said it was a madhouse where he works last night.

I like you and all but stay the heck away from me!:D

Finally got the sump is online now. My cucumber must not have liked the change as he expelled his guts last night, second time and still alive I think.

Don't you just love it.

Nothing like working with the flu. I rate it right up there with dancing on a broken foot. No fun at all.

Not that I've seen, just a little paranoid of a massive tank overflow since the sump is now 150 gal. as opposed to 20 gal. (knock on wood) I'm running 4 heaters to keep it at 79 degrees since the plumbing goes through a unheated crawl space. I plan on getting a couple of large heaters (500-800 watt with controllers) next week.
