Don't know what these are called, but they are so colorful they make my other corals look bland.

those are nice, one of my favorites actually

i have seen them called solars, but they are better known as sunbursts when they morph to this

when you see them in your lfs when they come in from the wild they typically will have a kind of a diahrea colored skirts, and bland pale yellow splotched faces. hidden gems for sure and can be picked up pretty cheap. The more light you give them better they can look.

Thanks! I have never seen any zoas that bright before. Any others you know of that can match these with brightness?

yes...lots, but no others come to mind that can be often found as cheaply as these. Its been a while since ive looked, but I know a couple of years ago these would come in all the time as frequently as the radioactive dragon eyes and watermelons....which is by the boatloads. I actually dont have them anymore. I got rid of all of mine but I honestly kind of miss them now, and they have come up recently and ironically just today I asked my lfs if he could find me a rock of them. he is checking into it.

They use to be common, used to walk by those in LFS. Didnt bother with them. They look cool with the pic blown up or macro shot but not as good when your just looking at them in your tank.

no, those you linkedfrom vivid are not the same

Delsol, you really dont think they look sweet from afar??

the detail just looks better in macros...the brightness I think is a standout in any tank jmo :)

I have some of these and got them as Alfa and Omegas. They are very nice and the speckled face really is a nice contrast.

Bill, not really IMO'. Not my cup of tea.

I like the contrast of the bright orange and black. I love lunar eclipses as well...even more so because they are bigger of course.

I would imagine you dont love them either

I have lunar's because they're bigger. I don't like small polyp with a lot of design and detail as the only way you get to really enjoy the details is with a still macro shot. especially with small polyps.

I have lunars too on the other side of my tank. Not as bright but still cool to look at.
