New Sweet Score

Check out this little guy I scored on Tuesday. Got him at Tongs FV for $40. Smallest Imperator I've seen. I asked the LFS employee if he ate good & he threw some small pellets in & this guy went nuts. He's eating mysis soaked in garlic like he's a madman. I have him in a 10g QT tank (hey it's better then the 2.5 gallon "cube" Tong's had him in) & he'll be going to the 45 cube in a week or two. I think I've talked the wife into a 150 for my bday, so that eventually will be his home.

I'm so stoked. I've always admired this fish & I finally got one!!!!

ive always wanted one too. are they reef safe? that is a sweet fish though!!

awesome fish... i had to give mine away right when it was in the middle of changing. They're not reef safe.

Nope they arent reef safe...................He's going in my FOWLR Cube, so I don't have any worries. If I can make the 150 FOWLR also, I can keep him & also cut wayyyyyy down on the equipment needed to run the tank.....

I've battled myself back-and-forth many times whether to chance putting a Koran Angel in my softy tank. They look almost identical to the junior Imperator, but with a slightly different pattern; most of all, they stay that awesome blue and white color scheme. I've already got two drawf angels in there (bi-color and flame angel) so I don't think taking care of a Koran would be much different.
But......

Steve, i used to have the same angel in my reef tank for a year without any problem. I just add another angel in my tank for 2 weeks and he seem to behave very well.

I have a majestic ( blue girdled ) in my tank, and he never bothers the sps, once in a while he'll take a bite out of my zoos, but I could really care less about that.
