New T. maxima gaping??

Hi all, I bought this pretty big T. maxima, about 3 inches+ across. It started off on the bottom (1st pic) but my friends told me that it needs more light and prefers rocks, which goes against my inital info from research that I should give it time first. I moved it to the back (2nd pic) and I didn't like how it looked. Moved it to the center rock piece and on the top (3rd pic), moved itself off and I placed it back (4th pic). Please give me some advice, it's about 1 day old in my tank. Thanks!

That is not a Maxiam, but a Crocea.
It is not gaping. It looks fine to me. Need very high light. It almost impossible to give Crocea too much light. In the wild they live right at the surface and often exposed to air at low tide.

+1......I have mine placed in the rock work, about mid way, both have "spots" I created for them.

Place them and forget them, let them drop that Gland down to the rock.
Then he ain't ever coming out with out that rock.
