New DSA NEO 105 is to be delivered today by Carlos from Aquarius.
Been a long wait as DSA messed up the overflow placement on first order. Will explain more once I get tank and pics.
Had rock and fish sitting in 100 gal rubber maid in dinning area for a good 3 months from old system.
Will post pics of everything as I start to get it up and running next week. Have to work all weekend.

I am filling mine as I type this... Awesome tank, stand is nice! I didn't do a build thread, however I may start one after I test the plumbing etc.

Well some delay on delivery due to mix up on stands but is suppose to get delivered today. Have recieved my pair of AI 52's hydras so have pretty much have every thing I need just need to plumb it up once it finally gets here. Wont really have much time to work on it till monday. Will post pics of tank, stand and sump once delivered.

Well after a good 3 months of waiting (had to be redone once both the tank and stand) got the stand today will get the tank Saturday. Has to be carried up up 1 flight of stairs and not lite being 1/2" glass. Couple pics of sump I had made I put in the stand to make sure could get in the stand. Actually forgot to get a pic of stand. LOL.
Sump is 36x16x16. Will have a 3-4" of sand bed in the large middle refuge area with a skimmer in one corner.

Well due to some miss calculations on my part this tank has been put on hold and probably be put up for sale on consinment at Aquarius.
Going to have to go smaller (42x24x18) 75 gal and probably acrylic. Since Aquarius got me good deal and great looking sump will probably have them do my tank also.
So be back in a few weeks with tank and stand.

I have had acrylic tanks before and actually prefer them just didnt like them back in the metal halide days as they hold in the heat more but now with LEDS heat is not a issue. Acrylic is stronger, lighter, more insulated for better temp control and clearer than any glass.

Miss calculation is wieght. Tank was much heavier than I was expecting and since live on second floor was allready pushing wieght limit. Plus aprtment said it would be heavy so down sizing.

The newer lighter smaller 42"x 24" x 18" is 75 gallons and will have a external overflow on the back. Will probably have Kingsley at AA do the stand and Carlos at Aquarius do then tank.

Equipment list most allready have.

*42x24x18 tank and stand to be built
*sump 36x16x16 pic above (will have a 24"x16"x4" deep sand bed in refugium)
*Reef Octopus Classic 150 INT Protein Skimmer
*AI Hydra 52's 2 of those with hanging kit
*Return pump Sicce Syncra Silent 3.0 (may have to get a larger pump)
*2 EcoTech Marine VorTech MP10wES (1 is currently on my 29 bio cube and probably stay there)
*Tunze Comline Wavebox 6208
*Will probably get 1 maybe 2 of the Tunze 6040 next month when they come out.
*2 100 watt ebo heaters
*1 Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm 100 Watt Aquarium Heater w/ LED Display Got this for my QT tank and really liking it. Not cheap by any means but think its worth the money.
*WavePoint Daylight Micro Sun LED High Output Clamp Light 12 Inch (refugium light)
*1" of Sand will be a mix of Pink Fiji and Caribsea Arag-Alive Special Grade Reef Sand

Will be running a bunch of different water flows in the tank as prefer a very random water movement from all kinds of different directions then just a pair of powerheads blasting in one direction. The 2 Tunze 6040 im really liking the looks and way they move water in a more spread out pattern and directional plus easy to hide behind rock work. Tunze wavermaker will auto turn off at night. MP10 well it will go some where. Should be able to creat alot of different random currents through out the tank.

This will be a mostly SPS tank with a couple of goniopora's. Have one ORA red Carlos at Aquarius has been holding for me 3 months and another multi color one he is bring back to life for me. Big thanks to him for this. Will probably add a few more fragged ones as they show.
Fish I have in 100 gal rubber maid tub for last 3 months
Hawaii yellow tang 2"
Lawn mower blenny
Sun burst Anthias
ORA canary fang blenny
2" Emperor Angle juvi I will need to sell due to down size if anyone interested in one $50.
Future fish on list
Mystery wrasse
Flame back angel
Potters angel
flame angel
royal gramma

Nice sump! I highly recommend you do not add sand to the center section of your sump. Especially if your putting your skimmer in the middle section. IMO, you will have better nutrient control without the sand.

I had been running GFO reactor latly and use to have DSB in my tanks before and never had any problems with DSB's and always keep my tanks stable. So going back to remote DSB in sump and with filter socks should have very little detris build up in sand. Over time the skimmer will probably be turned back and removed over a year or 2 as system becomes more mature.
I try to keep my systems (KISS) as simple as possible. Less failures.

Well priceing out a stand turned out to be alot more than I was willing to pay for and since I live in a apartment I dont have a place to build a stand or I would.
So did some shopping around today at a few stores looking for a used system and Aquarius had a 36x24x21 starfire 3 sided LeeMar used tank, stand and sump that fits pretty much what Im looking for so I am getting that.
My custom sump looks like it will fit in there with a 1/4" to spare length wise but not possitive till I get it home. (Luckly the stand has a side door on it)
Will have to setup my ATO reservoir outside the stand I guess. Should get picked up this weekend and setup by Wed.
Will post some pics once I get tank home this weekend.
With 2 AI 52 lights this thing is going to glow in the dark. :eek1:
My fish will be happy to get out of the 100 gal rubber tub they have been living in for the last 3 months.
Speaking of which will have a Rubbermaid® Structural Foam Stock Tanks, 100 gal. Capacity for sale here in 1-2 week or so if anyone looking for one. $60 OBO

Good luck with build, start up is fun. Thinking of upgrading mt sol to the hydra 52, post picks when up and glowing

Actually got themout and plugged into tonight along with the controler to make sure they where good to go. All went well and programed so ready to run.

Well things didnt go as planned again. So had the 105 delivered today after all. Will start plumbing up monday and probably filled tuesday. With the over flow lowered 1.5" the total water volume in the tank is only 85 gallons will just take it easy on live rock and sand so keep wieght down. Have like 40 lbs of BRS pukani rock and another 40 of BRS reef saver rock plus another 30 or so of misc rock. The ref saver and misc rock is kind of heavy compared to Pukani rock so may toss it and order another 50lbs pukani so cut down wieght plus really like the looks of the pukani.
Wont run a DSB in sump just have about 1" of sand in display. Will actually probably run the large refugium as a Frag spot once corals start to grow out later on.

Few pics of tank and overflow
