Ok, I have my new tank set up and now I'm just waiting for my water to be ready for fish...

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. I've been reading and lurking so I need to thank the people who came before me for the neatness of the build.

The aqua-scape came from reading a lot of the posts here and looking at pictures. I found the pukani at bulk reef supply and after watching their 52 week build I had some fun.

Digital Reef Controller (still working through a standby issue)
Reef Octopus Skimmer
Lunar pods (all blue, I think I need white for storm mode?)
LED light strip for the top
Tunzi auto filler (I think I worked out my issue there this morning)
Temp sensor, two heaters
PH sensor
I put on a filter sock just as a layer of immediate protection on my main line
Did mostly pvc which I never did before so that was kind of cool
Rossmont wavemakers (not a fan)

I think that's about it. Really fun build, I can't wait to start. Next on my list is to research water parameters, those kits you can add to a new aquarium to help it set up faster, storm mode, and oh yeah, I need to figure out how to start a refugiem.

HUGE thank you to all the people who contribute to the posts. A lot of reading but I was able to find most everything.

I love the way Pukani creates a no seam look. Pukani usually is high in phosphates and it can take some time to get it within acceptable levels. Look forward to seeing coral and fish in there when its ready.

Thanks for this. I was going to do my first water quality check this coming weekend.

OK, I'm a child and couldn't wait. First water test results:

Salinity 1.026
PH 8
KH 8
A .5
Nitrite .25
Nitrate 0
Phosphate 0
Calcium 340

I've only been up and running though for about 7 days and I drop a little bit of food in each day. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Love the rock work in the tank! I'm getting back into the hobby in the fall. You are making it hard to wait that long

You can purchase One And Only Nitrifying Bacteria by DrTim's Aquatics if you want to help it along. But remember patience is a virtue

So is 3 months the standard wait time do you think? I guess I'm confused as to the waiting since we generally want ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates low?
