Time to rally the helper crew!
If it's like most big items I've received, shipping company just drops it off at the curb. If you can, request a lift gate truck.
Depending on size, it might be best to pick it up at the shipping terminal. That way it can be loaded into a truck with a forklift. If it fits into my truck - and it should, I'd be wiling to help. Another positive of picking it up - you set the schedule better than 'out for delivery'.
PM sent w/ my contact info. We can work out the details.

tank is enroute to Benicia. When it arrives there, they will call me to arrange a time for delivery. I'm not sure how much leeway I will have. I'm expecting sometime between Mon-Wed.

So I have the following plan:
1) get the new tank in the house
- stop here is there is not enough people
2) move the old tank out of the way
3) move the new tank where the old tank was
need 4 people with the old tank (400lbs)
gotta get to work..
I didn't know if it is possible to use a jack to lift the old tank, so that a dolly could be used.

I work till 7 but I'm more than willing to help! I also have a full sized truck to haul anything thats needed.

I have not received a call from the shipper, so I'm assuming they will call on Monday.
This weekend my son is having is first gymnastic meet this weekend and we need to help out on facilitating the event. In between, these commitments I'm preparing for the move.
It looks like the best thing to do is have them and move the tank in one of the evenings after the delivery. I'm still looking into getting the mover to just bring the new tank and stand into the house. Then the only task is to move the old tank to a different room (turns into an iguana cage) and move the new tank to the old location.

Finally, got news! Aquarium to be delivered Wednesday between 2-6pm. I'll have this put into the garage.
Would it be possible to have help in the evenings on one of these days: Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday?
step 1) move the old tank across the hall
step 2) move the new tank from the garage in the old tank's place.
step 1 will be the most difficult.

Thursday is suppose to extremely heavy raining, so I think that day is out.
I'll think about Saturday, perhaps somewhere between 3-6. I was avoiding Saturday, because I thought that the club was busy with the holiday festivities and was not sure if helping club members had the time. we're all so busy.
The old tank is empty, but has not been cleaned. I can do that later. I moved all fish into the 45 and 90 based on their territorial behavior. Remaining water and live rock and some corals are in buckets and a stock tank.

That sounds like a plan. 3PM might be to early because we all will be acclimating our winnings!
