I knew it was going to take awhile for me to get all of the equipment I need, so I wanted to start off curing rock. The first 18 lbs of rock I have is now fully curred and it currently sitting in the main tank. It is now starting to get a diatom bloom. I'm also cooking the new rock I have which will go in the tank once it is ready.
When should I add the sand bed? I don't want to add it all yet because the tank will be moved as it is sitting in the garage at the moment. Could I add 20 lbs of sand and let it start start maturing and growing critters?
Since I'm starting to see the diatom bloom, I also wondered if I should go ahead and add any cleaning crue at this point? A few snails, crabs, whatever.
