New Tank Ordered! 112 Shallow Rimless

She's been in our tank for almost 2 weeks (brought her home on the 15th), we've had a bird's nest and acropora frag in the tank with her the entire time and the polyps are still fully extended on the bird's nest. The acropora was in bad shape before we brought the filefish home, it's making a great recovery. We know for sure that she doesn't affect the polyp extension on bird's nest corals as we received 3 frags last weekend and they're also fully extended.

We brought home an Acropora Selago colony Tuesday night, she was all over it (with the exception of feeding time) till the lights went out but didn't obsess on it yesterday at all. Our Green Clown Goby, however, was thrilled to have something to perch in! No visible damage.

Bubble King 180 in da house!

Photos to follow shortly.

:D i knew it

tank looks great, the filefish is too cool.

Did you guys get the filefish from you LFS or is there an online retailer offering these beautiful fish? Great tank btw, giving me a lot of ideas for my next setup.

TIA,

I found a brand new LiterMeterIII with additional pump for a steal. We now have fully automatic daily water changes!

Anyone want to buy a bunch of used 5 Gallon buckets? ;)

TIA,

Remarkably, I found the filefish at our local Big Al's in a tiny town! She was in a tank filled with CBB and eating brine (I asked for a demo), wouldn't have purchased her otherwise!

My next challenge will be training a Mandarin to go from live adult brine to frozen. :D

Do you know where I can go to find out how these automatic changes happen? Or the website where they sell the products?

My friend... (italian mafia boss accent)... This LiterMeterIII you speak of, It was offered up to the family by a Pizanne who never ever open the box after he found a horse head in his bed...

Translation: I bought it off of a guy who never opened the box, saved about $300 off the retail price...

Sounds like me hahah
nice buy!

This evening I evicted the DIY ATS from the sump. I found that it was turning the last section of the sump into an algae farm since the ATS lighting was going 18 hours a day.

The ATS did produce some serious algae deposits after about two weeks but I'm sure that the BK 180 along with the DSB / Gravity Fuge can handle nutrient export duties just fine.

This is such a beautiful build. The clean lines of the display tank/stand are really appealing. How accessible is the tank? I would think that 30" deep is longer than my arm could reach behind a rock..

Can't believe this is local! Im in Ajax as well. I'd invite myself over but I would prolly end up stealing the setup! haha lovin this build. Tagging along.

Which LFS do you go to?

Bump for a sweeeeeet tank!!!! Need some ideas for my own reef (about the same size) Seemed like a promising build!
