7095 is convenient as everything is set by buttons and knobs, however the 7096 can do more and is cheaper. It only needs to be hooked up to a computer to program it, so a desktop PC is no problem, the only issue with a desktop is that to set wavebox mode with the autotuning feature you have to be able to watch the tank while at the computer so you can hit stop and save the timing that made the wave. If this feature doesn't interest you, it will work fine otherwise and you can probably find a work around if it is something you want to try, whether that is a wireless USB hub or having one person at the tank while one is on the computer (assuming the computer is close enough for the 15ft USB cable) and just have them tell you when to stop.
